Volunteer Requirements
To ensure a safe and fulfilling experience for all volunteers, please review the following requirements:
- Age Requirement: Volunteers must be 13 years or older to register.
- Minors (Under 18): Volunteers under 18 years must have a parent or guardian complete the Minor Consent Form before being approved to volunteer.
- Additional Requirements: Some volunteer roles may require a background check and/or immunization documentation before starting.
Volunteer Opportunities
People’s offers flexible volunteer opportunities designed to fit a variety of schedules and interests. Whether you’re looking for a one-time event or a long-term commitment, People’s has a place for you!
JUNIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM (AGES 15–17)
- Summer Volunteer Program (June – August): Junior volunteers are welcome to participate in all available volunteer opportunities during the summer. A commitment of 4 hours per week is recommended.
- Youth Advisory Committee (YAC): This committee provides young volunteers (ages 15-24) the opportunity to work alongside our organization and the Adolescent Health team, offering valuable insights while engaging in meaningful volunteer work throughout the year.
GENERAL VOLUNTEER PROGRAM (AGES 18+)
- Open year-round with opportunities in various departments.
- Roles may range from one-time events to ongoing commitments.
- Volunteers interested in recurring opportunities are encouraged to register for multiple dates.
- We recommend a 4-hour weekly commitment for at least 5 months to ensure a meaningful experience.
GROUP VOLUNTEERING
We welcome groups looking to contribute to our mission! If you are part of a community organization, business, or group of individuals, we encourage you to participate in our one-time events. Group leaders are responsible for registering each member individually for their selected event.
VOLUNTEER ATTENDANCE POLICY
Your commitment as a volunteer plays a key role in ensuring the success of our programs. Please review our attendance expectations:
- Absences: Notify your supervisor at least 24 hours in advance if you cannot attend your scheduled shift.
- Late Arrivals: Inform your supervisor if you anticipate being late.
- Frequent Absences: Missing more than two shifts without notice may result in a review of your participation in the program.
