Event Recap – There’s No Such Thing as a Free Lunch – a great success!

On May 13, 2024, People’s Community Clinic hosted its annual fundraising luncheon at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Austin. This event supports People’s mission to provide quality healthcare to people who are uninsured and underinsured regardless of their ability to pay.

Regina Rogoff, the CEO of People’s Community Clinic, noted that with nearly 1 in 5 Texans lack health insurance, Texas has the highest number and the highest percentage of uninsured and underinsured people in the United States.

We are pleased to share that the event raised over $420K that will go directly back into the Central Texas community through healthcare and dental services, mental health support, and wrap-around programs to help patients live their best lives.

Texas State Representative Toni Rose was honored with the prestigious W. Neal Kocurek Health Care Advocacy Award in recognition of her efforts to pass House Bill 12, expanding Medicaid coverage for mothers from 2 months to 12 months. Texas Monthly praised this legislation as a “major step forward” and listed Rep. Rose as a top legislator in 2023.
