College Volunteer Program

“I was accepted to an MD program in Illinois, and my time volunteering at People’s Community Clinic gave me a perspective that served me well during the competitive application process. My ideas and intentions on practicing medicine are developing, but I constantly reflect on my time at PCC. A space of healing that was equitable and competent. I am thankful for this experience.”

-Javiar, MD Student

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at People’s Community Clinic.

People’s Community Clinic’s College Volunteer Program gives students a unique opportunity to experience a healthcare setting while gaining personal satisfaction through helping others. Our student volunteers work in departments throughout the clinic alongside with patients, families and/or employees every day. Our college program is one of our largest volunteer programs. Our goal is to provide each volunteer with an impactful experience. Evening shifts are available, but limited.

Students are asked to commit to a minimum of one semester and 40 hours of volunteer service per semester (3-4 hours per week). The hour commitment for the summer semester is reduced due to its shorter length. Submission of an application does not guarantee placement.

Please see our list of volunteer opportunities below.
