Margaret Martens Paulsen Educational Assistance Fund
The Margaret Martens Paulsen Educational Assistance Fund was started in the spring of 2013 when People’s employee, Maggie Taylor, FPN, BC, PhD, RN, was named Nurse Practitioner of the Year for 2012 by the Austin Advanced Practice Nurses professional organization. PCC matched the initial donation and will take community contributions to continue the growth of the fund. The goal of the fund is to provide financial support to one or more PCC employees to start, continue, or complete their education in the medical field through an accredited health program.
The Bicky Trager Memorial Fund
The Bicky Trager Memorial Fund, named for Elizabeth “Bicky” Trager, an early champion for the cause of women’s health and education, supports a variety of patient education effort at People’s, primarily the work of health educators who assist at the Center for Adolescent Health, and the Department of Women’s Health and Adult Medicine. They provide patients with information on primary health topics including family planning, prenatal care, diabetes, and chronic disease management.
